Joystick Hat Bug?
I fixed the problem (see the thread in the Bugs section) and will be in the next update.
I think I've identified a bug concerning the use of joystick hats with Macs... It's been reported on three different sticks on two different systems.
Problem: When strafing (up, down, left, right) is assigned to the joystick hat in the vendetta controls menu, the ship will endlessly downstrafe after the hat is first touched. Once this happens, left and right work properly, up stops the downstrafing while held, and down does nothing.
System 1: 2x2Ghz G5, OS X 10.3 Panther
Both Saitek Cyborg Gold 3D and Logitech Extreme 3D Pro sticks had the problem.
System 2: (water451's) OS X 10.2.6 Jaguar
MS Sidewinder had the problem.
Assigning the strafe commands to buttons other than the hat worked fine on both systems and all three sticks.
PS: USB Overdrive was not installed on either system at the time and is not a factor. If, however, I tell the hat to send keystrokes to Vendetta it works perfectly for strafing. This isn't a good solution, however, because when USB Overdrive is enabled the stick itself stops steering the ship. (That's another issue I'm concerned about)
Please help. :)
