Firewall?

I've got the same prob. What ports need to be open with a firewall in place - either mac os or router etc.

From the FAQ page:
"The Vendetta Updater, the auto-update program that executes prior to game startup, makes an outbound connection to TCP port 21024. Once updating has completed and the game itself is fired up, a connection is established upon login attempt to UDP port 21141. Thus, any modern firewall capable of "keeping state" on outbound TCP/UDP should require no alterations. Other firewalls and packet filter implementations may require specific configuration changes. Both the updater and game work fine through Network Address Translation."

If you are using Little Snitch, you will need two user defined rules:

Vendetta Allow any network connection
Any Application Allow UDP to port 21141

The second is needed because vendettaclient.app is inside the Vendetta package and not having it will cause a server timeout.

Alternately, you can turn off Little Snitch

I'm having this same problem but I'm not currently using a firewall. Does anyone know whether this is the same port that is used by some bit torrent clients and would be blacklisted?(i am at a university and that's why i ask.
