New iMac
Since when is a 7300GT 60% faster than an X1600?
Since Apple underclocked their X1600s?
I'm never buyin' an iMac again.

Like my nice G5. Aye, in a few years when upgrades get cheaper, I'll be able to have 8gigs of RAm and a gig graphics card and my processor speed will probably be in the upper average at the very least.

In a few years, your processor speed will be nowhere near the average, your memory type will most likely be -more- expensive because new types (DDR3 or DDR4 by then) will be prevalent in new machines and DDR-RAM will be like SD-RAM is now- far overpriced because of lowered demand. Graphics cards might still work in your machine, but, then again, is anybody still going to be making cards with PPC Mac ROMS in them at that point? No computer today will be above average in a few years.
BUT he'll be able to run PPC-only apps from back then at blinding speed. That counts for something in my book.
Better to just sell it and get a new one every 12 months. :D
