no texture mode?
is it hard to make a no-texture mode?
this old mac cannot properly process the game graphics. i think if i could turn off textures completely that it might improve things considerably. it would be back in x-wing land but i liked x-wing.

Good idea. My poor old powerbook might not get the hiccups as often as it does if that were possible.
Setting texture res to the lowest setting isn't good enough?
I tried it Monday on our G3-350 with an ati rage128 and the game ran surprisingly ok. Still like 10fps when at the docking bay, but it was fine flying around. I didn't get into any shooting matches, though. I guess I should try fighting some bots. However, that machine is way below minimum specs so I'm not going to worry about it.
I did notice that turning off the background noticably increased the fps.

maybe. but a space game without a space background? It's a crime! =P

ray, I think ananzi is referring to Macs even older than that... the question is rather whether you actually want to cater to those users, though, I guess, since they're a small percentage of a small percentage, after all.
toshiro no its 350mhz rage128.
for some reason rebooting and turning on 'rage128 color hack' seems to have improved things to where i can kill bots at least. thanks.

Hm... I haven't run Vendetta Online on any of my iMacs (G3/350, rage 128) recently... maybe I should do that. However, I found the scalability to be sufficient for fluid play when I did.
hey, i played the beta and alpha version of vendetta for a year on my imac G3 400 mhz!!!
Let's make a club ;)
There was once a command for this I believe
/wireframe
or
/togglewireframe
Correct me if i'm wrong, don't use it very often.
Should help you out bigtime, haha, don't forget to check the new framerate....
