Increased LAG
I usually skip the Vandetta update window when starting (right click show package and click on the client). I was able to connect to 3.2.2 even though I didn't have the update from 3.2.1 and everything worked fine. However, after running the update, I've been experiencing LAG. Pings that used to barely top 100 are now maxing at 60,000!!! There are some wormholes that are more noticible than others (to sector 7), but even battles have LAG issues. I blew up randomly while escorting a flag by a bot that wasn't on my radar.
I originally thought this might be a connection problem, but I've been hearing other users experiencing the same problems. I'm not sure if this is OS X related, but it is a problem.

Yes, I'm also experiencing similar problems.
I also have the same problem. My login time has been increaed to about 5 minutes and lag is so bad game is unplayable. Avg ping is about 14000. The only change has been updating to 3.2.2 after updating QT to 6.2.
I am still having lag issues. Somone help!!!
Let's try updateing to 3.2.10 shall we?
Or did you do so?
Hard to tell with you, because you did say you run the client and skip the update thingy.

He would have a protocol collision if he didn't update.
All I can say for looking into the lag issue is to look into the ISP and check the traceroute/ping to our server to make sure you're not dropping packets or having high latency.

Is there a way to NOT drop packets? I get that sometimes.. Esp. in s12 and s2, which just happen to be my home turf.
Yeah, call your ISP. It has nothing to do with Vendetta. Vendetta uses udp which is allowed by its definition to be unreliable.
Does udp by any chance stand for Unreliable Data Packet?
Heh, actually no.
It stands for User Datagram Protocol.
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc768.html
quoted from the RFC:
"This protocol provides a procedure for application programs to send messages to other programs with a minimum of protocol mechanism. The protocol is transaction oriented, and delivery and duplicate protection are not guaranteed."
So in other words, any given packet may be not received or may be received more than once.

so it looks like I _do_ have to go bitch at my ISP after all... my mom won't like this... *grins*
It is strange, but I have been able to log in without updates. As for the Lag problems, there was a bug that would timeout the server everysooften which has been fixed in an earlier version.
