wouldnt it be bizarre.....
Now as i sit here with a wee smile spread across my face
(after spending all me money and then bending the plastic a little) in front of the new imac g5 20" :D and a thought popped into my head...
Just for fun i thought with that little isight cam staring at me, (thinking of the itoy games for isight cams, in particular the one where you control a bloke parachuting down by moving your arms in front of the cam...)
wouldn't in be a giggle, as much as useless it would be, to control my ship as i stand in front of the screen flapping my arms like some lunatic bird man....
alas the technical know howing eludes me but i can imagine.....
(remember the scene from lost in space, will robinson remote controlling the robot. hehehe bang bang bang)

picks up beer , Isight spots beer, ship veers violently to the left and hits big asteroid...........
It is however a really interesting idea, though the know how also eludes me....

you could make up some algorithm to process the video information, and translate that into ship movements!
did anyone else just think about that old movie "Flight of the Navigator"?
Well, I doubt it would be realy usefull in a fighter, but... I can imagine myself hooking up my mac to the dvi of my TV (±34") , put an iSight on it, and control one of them new capships this way. It could be pretty intuitive to guide your fighter squads this way, and reacting to threaths could be pretty fast too. Yea, this could be quite an experience!
I just love thinking outside the box :)
