When I played EQ for the mac I had two accounts that I paid for and used to run a warrior and a cleric, one on each of the accounts, since pacific time there generally aren't as many players online, especially healers. The point was that I was able to run two EverQuest applications at the same time, one on each account, and used fast swapping to go between the two while playing in a window.

Has anyone tried doing this with vo? I've been meaning to but have yet to try, and since I'm at work I can't try it now. Just thought this might be fun to try since you could set up a bot in an empy sector close to where you are botting and have them sit ther full of repair nanites or it could hold ctc cargo all day for you and then you could just make one trip at the end, etc.

This worked at least back in beta. I used 3 clients at once for flag capping (long story).

how did you do it? i tried several things, and it just popped up the one i already had open.

but, yeah I've done this as well.

They disabled this to prevent various kinds of cheapness.

even if you own two accounts? AND install two seperate VO applications, one on each user account.

If nothing else, this would allow a player to transfer money to himself/herself without the need to "trust" another player or their banking system.

It would also allow someone to have an itani character on along with their serco one and see all CTC talk in channel 11.

If you do that, john, it should work. You can't launch a second client through the OS X gui, but you can do it from the Terminal.

It would also allow me to get rich when the caps gave a 1mil bonus to the nation that capped.

Its old, probably just when the new universe came out. Unless Im getting confused with another game, Ive ran three Vendettas at once (maybe 4 but never had 4 accounts to mess around with).

Perhaps you could open more than one at once by bypassing the updater? Nonetheless, i need to try that when i get home, I have dual monitors :)

Bypassing the updater might work. We had to do that to acess the test server when everything else had crashed.

Errrr, actually, it does work. At least for macs. You have to have two separate accounts, though.
