I hate to agree to lemming, but I have the same problem. The crash mostly appears in S7. I had around 10 so far (none in the last 2 days though). PowerBook G4 800 MHz with 1GB/DVI here.
I hate to agree with myself again but...
After downloading it again, i still crash everynow and then, but after setting level of detail and distance of detail up a couple notches i only almost crash. Still anoying.

It's happened on my new 900Mhz 12" iBook twice.
I play in full screen mode, and I wonder if anyone has played in windowed mode and had this happen? My guess is the OS is still running--otherwise you'd kernel panic, sound would die, screen would go grey, no mouse would ever come back, etc. BUT because the game doesn't let you Apple-Tab in full screen, you can't switch to your next app.
Sounds like we need a feature request for the OS X client--enable app switching in full screen. No reason not to that I can think of.

If Vendetta is responding properly, I think apple-tabbing works. At least it did in one version of osx.
But if Vendetta crashes, there's no way to respond to key presses.

Well, for everyone who encountered this very annoying bug, i suggest you go get this free software by ambrosia sw!

Escape pod, not the stuffit expander thing.

Andrew (who wrote escapepod) said that it is fairly low level, but high enough that the system can be fried enough that it won't work; the force-logout could be lower level and needs to be rewritten. Like with Giants, escapepod often doesn't work.
It is better then nothing, right?
Just popped into the game at full screen and tried apple-tabbing with it (doing monitor spanning on a new iBook), and it doesn't work for me. Anyone else get better luck?
The new iBooks support monitor spanning??? *grumbles*
Pyro, i found something for you to do with your iBook!!!

Oh and, if you are going to do it, the glue on the battery case SMELLS.

Don't tell me you actually tried that... And ya, I've known about applefritter for a while... :P
Well, i do have a ibook sitting around with a motherboard just beging to be replaced...
But man, that glue SMELLS.
SL goes off to find the funny screw bits.
Yah, i have the ibook i have now, and the dead on, SOME EVIL GREMLIN STEPED ON THE POWER CORD WHEN IT WAS PLUGGED IN!!!!!, so the little tip snaped off...
Sorry bout the caps but i kinda had a essay on that thing... Thank god for batrtery swapping =)

I'll take the dead one! :P
Lol, it'll cost yah $800 dollars to get the mother board replaced, and do you really want one without a case?
If i succesfully do the case of that one, i'll try the case of this one, then you might get a neato case!
Oh and, you better like blue.

:D Of course!
Must kill folding, it completely crashed my mac, COMPLETLY, it ate my processor, then safari started coughing up blood, then the beach ball waved to me.
Oh well.
So far i have the case off, and the rimming of the top half of the case taken out, now time to play with flamable liquids >:-)

AHAHAHAHA!!! :P Yay for folding@home... Stupid IT guy (knows jacksh*t) refuses to install folding because he thinks it'll use up too much of the school's 10 Mbit connection... God, he's an idiot... SL, you better post pics! And I'll take the guts, BTW...
I still have to get the paint off, find a nice shade of blue, test it on something to see if i like it, then paint it, then hope my dead ibook still works.
(to see if it still works, i'm just going to swap baterys with my current one and my dead one.)
Umm, all folding does is download a packet of info, process it (which i'd like to point out takes awhile) then sends the info back, oh wow, it's like downlaoding something.
Oh and pyro, if i give you the guts, and kill the ethernet port, would you still want it =P (yes the port is still alive)

Hehe... Yeah, I'd still take it... :P
It looks cool without the case, and i dumbly forgot to bring the case with me to cape cod, so i can't kill the paint right now =(
