i (through a series of unfortunate events) need to redownload the whole client again. I tried downloading the one from this website (which is version 1.0.6 i belive) I ran the updater, and got about 100k of updates. Hmm. I got a message that the game was up to date, but that I needed to rerun the updater. I do so and it freezes. What ever shall i do?

EDIT: maaybe no one wants who? me? playing. maybe everyone is so annoyed that they will refuse to help :(

i think i shall try an update from scratch to see if i run into the same problem.

/edit i didn't have any trouble updating a fresh install. perhaps something for fubar'ed with your install? /edit

turns out i just had to wait a really long time.

EDIT: now it mysteriously stops updating with 20544/26340KB done.

Mine also gets stuck around 20124/26340k or something like that

I just recently did a fresh install of VO, and everything went down smoothly... no long wait times except when it was waiting for the update queue.

Occasionally I've seen the updater seem to pause for a long time while downloading an update. Usually, I've been able to quit the updater, restart it, and it picks up from where it left off. Hope that helps a bit

Um, yeah, why cant we at least have a current distribution from the download site?
Sourceforge should easily be able to change the updater to be the 1.2.5.4 version. I mean, just give'em a new file?

i had the same problem at first with the updates, i just let my comp go at it for a bit over an hour or two and it all worked out
