Windows Store issues
Well, while I allready have the PC version of VO installed, I was wondering if Load times would be better with the windows store version (thats how it worked for WotB anyways). I dont notice much load change, but there were some peculiarities.
1) Maybe because I set fullscreen mode too early, VO wouldnt let me fullscreen because I had to fullscreen. confused? I recorded it, hopefully that helps: ???
2) I couldnt use both left and right triggers from the mouse at the same time.
3) [asthetic] The icon on the taskbar looked funny - the blue whirl was only 1/3 of the box's size.
4) Hulk's insides were textureless and shaded weird, and the radar had them listed as enemies still. are the updates slightly behind on windows store?

Updates are not slightly behind, I think the Store version is kind of forgotten about. I mean, I have no actual figures, but I reckon not many (if any) people use the store version, compared to those who run it in Desktop mode. (I think the store version was more aimed at those who cannot run the native PC client, for whatever reasons)
Even installing plugins on the store version is a pain, there really is no point in running it besides to test if it works (which it does not, with a lot of things, and I am sure you found out). The only way to make your load times faster are the following:
Turn preload all resources on under Video options
Install to SSD (or even better, a RAM disk - just remember to save/load the contents on reboot)
Have a reasonably fast and very stable connection to guild servers (Long load times can be caused by dropped packets or late replies, faster connection generally makes for better load times, but not always - a slow but stable connection is always better than a fast dodgy one; especially in VO)

The original Store release was intended for the Microsoft Surface, which was then pulled off the market within a year or some such (the ARM one, with WinRT).
The current Store version has a number of drawbacks, including the fact that it was implemented for the original Windows Metro API, which didn't allow us to use standard Windows networking sockets, and instead required an asynchronous API. Basically, asynchronous networking is a terrible idea for a realtime game, so there's always a bit more gameplay latency in the current Store version.
We're probably pulling the Store version entirely, in the near future.
We'll likely do another Store version in the future, with a much more recent implementation of what is now called the "Windows Universal Platform" (which adds things back, like.. non-stupid networking).
The desktop version you can download from our site is likely always going to be the best version for Windows. "Store" versions will likely be more of a compromise of Microsoft requirements and limitations.
