Win XP
Just got back into the game, like to play during downtime at work, and we run XP here still...is there any fix for the getnamedpipeclientprocessid error? Seeing as that function isn't available until Vista...I'm kinda lost on what to do
Windows XP support was dropped some time ago, not long after Microsoft themselves dropped support. The binaries are now built using MS Visual Studio 2013, and require Vista as a minimum OS. There is no reason to go back; would you take the time to support an OS that came out 17 years ago?
So if you want to play VO at work you have only a couple of options:
1) Convince your employer to upgrade to at least Windows Vista.
2) or get their permission to install a Linux distro along-side the current OS.
3) Get a smartphone/tablet that can play VO.
None of them involve XP, it is no longer possible.

Not asking if anybody is supporting it, or for suggestions on other ways to play, I can figure that out myself. What I did ask for was if anybody knew a way to get around that clientprocess error. But, thanks for everything, I'll go to a programming forum and find out there.
