I was wondering on how does the trial for the pc version works?

does the limit count down when I started playing the game and will keep counting down even if I logout?

or

does it count down only when I play the game and the count down stop when I logout?

The 8 hour trial is dependent on game time, so 8 hours spent in game.

If someone gives you a friend key, your trial will be extended to a 14 day real time trial.
