Screen goes black...
I've decided to try out Vendetta, looks like my sort of game.
I use Vista 64 Home Premium.
Vendetta has installed and patched.
I have logged in, created a character (last night, but was too late to try it out).
This morning I loaded up and clicked on 'Play' I get the 'Entering Universe... Cancel' window over a black screen; music plays in the background.
Happy to enclose a diagnostic file if it will help.
And nothing, it seems to hang.
It isn't the firewall, as I disabled it completely to check. And no, Windows Firewall is also off.
Any suggestions?
Haven't yet been able to try out the game, vey irritating.

It should make an errors.log file in the VO directory. Just cut & paste that to the thread.
Thank you.

Sounds like tweaking your graphical settings might help, since you've connected to the server just fine. Go into the Options menu from the log in screen, and try changing your Video Driver under the Video option. VO has three available for Windows comps- DirectX 9.0, DirectX 8.1, and OpenGL. DirectX 9.0 should be the default, but any ought to function. Try turning off as many features as possible, and see if any of them produce at least some image. If one works, start turning features back on until you find the one that's causing the blank screen. They each generate their own separate log files when used, again found in the VO directory, which are generally more detailed in regards to graphical issues.
You can also try going into the Options->Interface, and uncheck "Show Station in Menu". It shouldn't be an issue, but it certainly can't hurt since you start with a transparent station interface, with the station shown in the background. It's just one less thing to worry about.

I've reduced all settings to their minimum.
Changed drivers and opengl actually works the best. directx 8.1 might have had a slight affect.
opengl is still giving problems and as far as I can tell doesn't seem to matter how high the settings are.
So station in menu has certainly had an affect. I couldn't dock at all until i stopped showing it; now I can sometimes.
