Windows XP, eating tons of memory after recent updates
After the last 2 updates VO has been starting to use up ungainly amounts of memory (300k+) and lagging heavily in many sectors and on chat. Any ideas/fixes? I have the graphics set very low.
wow, 300k+? that's like almost a third of a meg.
There have been no changes to VO that would affect memory within the last few updates. Maybe the memory is cached memory that depends on what sectors you fly into.

Hmm. Well, It seems to have gone down for now. Will be sure to post back if it occurs again. Thanks for the concern =)
yea i was starting to experience memory problems with 4gb after about three weeks of not restarting the box and several times running as many as 7 clients while playing splinter cell. vo was at times eating 350mb per client
Starting to get the same problem again. Memory consumption increases with time, mining seems to aggravate this at some times..
Any ideas?

Getting the same problem here as well Spedy now after last update. VO was using close to 500mb after mining for several hours and seemed very choppy and slow even though fps was over 135 and ping was 61.4.

I did a test and just left my rag mining a aquean ore roid in the middle of no-where in Itan system for over 8 hours, and this was after playing for about 4 to 5 hours so VO had been running over 12 hours straight. Memory usuage by VO had jumped up to like 698mb.
Hmm, interesting. I would post stats for both of the computers I VO with but I have no idea how to find them besides tearing them appart and looking at the bits >.<
Spedy, down load PC Wizard and it will tell you all you want to know about your system and probably more.

I've noticed this too, but in my case it's not directly VO that's at fault- it's targetless. The longer I have targetless running, and the faster I set it to update, the slower the game gets. For some reason the roid list option in targetless actually exacerbates the problem.
hmmmmm, I will try VO with out targetless plugin and see if I get the same memory leak problem. Ty for that little bit of info IRS.
Can you try with the newer targetless? It should be more efficient then ever :D I'll look into any possible memory problems anyhow for the next version ;)
Will do drazed.
anything like this?
New problem has come up. On one of the older computers I run VO on, it has been taking a loooong time to quit. 5-10mins about...
Anyone else getting long quit times?
