When will the Vista Sound Buffer issue be fixed?
The only thing keeping me from re-subscribing is the annoying clicking sounds that make it sound liek a broken record.
The next update will have a change that should hopefully fix the problem.
Are we talking about the 1.7.51.1 patch? That's actually what messed up my vista sound and another vista user's sound. My sound was fine before this patch as far as I can remember. Now it's scratchy when it's "set to DirectSound". The sound isn't that big a deal to me of course. Hope you guys can get the cap ship collision stuff figured out.
Hmm, that's strange.
Well, you can force it back to the old way by editing the config.ini file:
[wavsound]
use_dsound=0

iv had to revert to the old setting
the directsound caused the clicking to go into over drive almost like a drum roll.

Yeah, I used the wavsound fix, but my sound was about 50 times worse after the update. Vista sound problems FTW!!

hmm. thanks for the update. I wonder if Vista isn't respecting my request for the sound thread to be real-time priority.
worked ok before the patch here too, then tried the fix and didnt help
ok, thanks.
There apparently seems to be no correlation between hardware and what works/doesn't work that I can find so far.
