DX8.1 and Ion storms
Tested on multipul hardware configs, but the DX8.1 driver does not handle the storm effects very well, heres a screeny from an NVidia system.
Tested on a few systems, most of them had NVidia GPU's, but one had an Intel GPU (not 100% sure which) and one had a ATI X600 GPU. I prefer dx8.1 over opengl, because sometimes I play from work, and the machine I use runs slow as hell in DX9 mode, and I cannot minimize/task switch away from VO in OpenGL mode ;)

Hmm. I'll look into it. I haven't used the dx8.1 path in a long while.
