This problem has been answered in another thread, but the solution hasn't really helped me. I was wondering if you could give me some ideas as to how I can get onto Vendetta.

I have downloaded the programme, and set up an icon on the desktop (The blue swirl). However, when I click on the icon I get a message:
"Connection Error. Unable to connect to the Guild Software Update server! Please re-run the application to retry."

I checked my security settings, they were medium. I turned them off, still a connection error. I went into control panel and found the Windows Firewall (I use XP Pro), it was already off. I use a speedtouch modem, could that be the problem? Maybe it carries it's own firewall, as was the answer to a similar problem, if so how do I access this firewall to remove it?

I re-booted the system, it now seems to work okay. I suggest others with this problem should try re-booting too.
