Yay for Windows/NTFS
media.rlb currently has 1,932 fragments! Hurrah!
Psst, in the time it took you to write that, you could have fixed the problem instead of bitching :p
windows also has 1/6th of the bug reports of the other OSes.
oh that brilliant unix design! so robust. so stable.
so unable to get working video and sound drivers for 10 years running.
oh yes its all the manufacturers fault.
for 10 years.

Actually alienb, the Windows defragmenter won't defragment media.rlb. Not even from safe mode. Very strange, that.
That's because you've got the file open or locked, smart guy.

Maybe that's because Microsoft charges you by the minute to sit on hold in order to report Windows bugs...
I dunno... just a thought, that maybe since other OSes allow you to submit bug reports for free, people actually do so, rather than saying to themselves (as I know I have) "oh well, it's not that bad... I suppose they probably already know about it, and will fix it eventually"
...incidentally, I've been saying that about the same bugs for the last two years, and they've never been fixed.
so here's a challenge to all you windows users: Report a bug.
Actually use -your- time, and -your- money, to report a bug to Microsoft. Sure, MS collects data from you every time you crash (if you let it), but that's not a bug report! and to be honest, as far as bugs in Windows go, the ones that crash the system outright are only the tip of the iceberg...
EDIT: It won't defragment it... so have you tried this? go into safe mode, then COPY the file (control+drag to another location), then MOVE the file back (overwriting he original copy) this will sometimes alleviate fragments, and is often the only option you have open to you if the file is 'oo fragmented' for the disk defragger to do anything about it (over 4000 fragments, and you often get it ina files that can't be defragged report at the end)

Let us not be drawn into a debate of Operating Systems.

Hey, is someone wants to argue about it froma resonable standpoint, they're probably in the wrong forum anyways aren't they? heh... I'm just saying that windows isn't the Godly, bug-free operating system that some delusional people seem to think it is...
I don't intend to turn this into an OS war, and I very much doubt it will start to go that way in spite of my intentions, as I'm sure (almost) everyone would have to agree with me.
