Being a newby level 2er, I'm a little leary of jumping into battle (very brief I would guess) with the more experienced players (and ships). Is there a "newby Sector" or a "level 2 night" ?
Just imagine 60 or so Wraiths puttering about, mistaking asteroids for cap ships...docking with ice cyrstals....oh what fun!

Not so long ago a bunch of players created new level 0 accounts to have freebus wars. Was a blast. You could probably organize something like that yourself if you wanted.

Hey that's not a bad idea for a tournament. No players higher than level 2 or 3, not sure which yet. No experienced players using alts to gank true newbs (dunno how to stop that yet)

Anyone care to try and organise that. Hell you could even just make it combat practise. It wouldn't have to be a tournament.

Actually, I wouldn't worry about it. Just plow into the fray. There's virtually no penalty for dying, so just go for it.

Yes, you will get blown up. I get blown up every single time. But it's still hella fun.

Actually, I've kicked around an idea for a leveled tournament. Maybe a 5K ship class, a 15K ship class, etc.

I think it'd be neat to see what people strap to various ships to get around price limits. Would people go for manuverability, or firepower? Or battery capcity? :)

Ok, how bout this:

All players- Newbys or Oldbys Must have the same ship,weapons loadout and battery (like freebus Wars).
Locate it in a real crowded sector (asteroids etc.)
That way when I'm vaporized I'll know it was from a truly better player(or they cheated-somehow!).

I'll start doing something like this sporadically in the evenings. I'm on the West Coast, so it may be kinda late for people on the other coast. I can't promise specific times.

Things like that are usually announced on the role playing forum, and also, ingame, but not always.

I ran one last night, announced on channels 1 and 100. There will be more. I allowed experienced players in as well, but they took experience losses as a result of killing lower level players. I hope for a fix for this soon. This wouldn't be an issue for noobs.

Yeah that was fun the other night well at least till I lost....

I really hope to see more i think it's a great way for the newer people like that one guy who was still on an 8 hour trial to see the true side of VO.
