Newbie suggestions
First of all, I'd like to thank Guild Software for the free trial. Just eight hours seemed to unveil so little but I had a great time (well, I have about 30 minutes left).
Most of my suggestions I post because I may have been able to use them. Thus it's generally about certain information about how things work in Vendetta. If I misread something in the tutorial or manual of faqs.. or I just forgot, feel free to point this out.
Additional thanks go out to the people in /100 who were quite helpful.. especially yoda as far as I can recall.
So.. on to the suggestions.
1) Personally, even though I have read the tutorial and manual I had trouble with the following. Using the proximity indicator (to leave a sector) I assumed one had to move away from the centre of a sector.. a station, for example. Obviously that wasn't true. In this case I may just have been forgetful, but if it's not stated in the tutorial/manual I'd say it's useful to point out all asteroids prohibit jumping and in certain situations (say, when in an asteroid field) one has to seek out a direction which gets one out of it where one should just move in that direction until one reaches the 3000 mark even if the proximity indicator gives signs toward the contrary (that one is not moving away from such objects as asteroids). That is, in short, sometimes one just has to ignore the indicator.
Of course it could be it was just me who had problems with that. If not, it may be valuable to add.
2) I haven't rechecked the manual, but I was highly surprised to find that when my wraith first exploded and was rebought, the equipment I'd bought was gone (in case of the plasma guns) or somewhere else. It makes sense that when one stores/buys something somewhere and don't move it it should remain in that location (unless you'd be able to move it as cargo?).. but it is confusing how equipment seemed to disappear. Also, when one buys a new starship the old one remains at the location the new ship was bought, and again it makes sense, I agree.. but it can be a bit confusing and annoying. I'm not sure what happened that my plasma cannons vanished (thought I would get them back with my ship).. and that's annoying, but mostly this is about the fact that playing without taking these things into account can end one up with a lot of scattered resources. How this all works and possibly several suggestions on how to plan ahead, not to buy more than one is about to fit into one's starship unless one uses the current station as one's homebase.. and possibly more might help new users realise how this all works (and I'm not sure I know).
3) I found, in my short time of playing, that money was far less of a limiting factor than the licenses were. I know the licenses are noted in one's personal information, but it should also be clarified there (again.. just so one knows what one has and needs). Also consider adding information to missions if doing a missions will end in getting one closer to a specific license. If it's not just missions (I'm talking mission rewards, note) but also actions (like shooting bots or mining.. whatever) it may be useful to note in the tutorial/manual what actions help in attaining what license.
4) It may be useful to add an example.. or a tutorial 'mission' on how flying with Flight Assistance differs from flying without it. A good example would be to have a player shoot bots in an asteroid field and (attempt to) pick up the cargo the bots leave in either mode. I only used it when adviced to since I didn't know what it did, exactly. make new players find out for their benefit. Afterwards they can always decide to stick to one mode forever, should they wish to.
I hope this is something which may prove to be useful.

Welcome to Vendetta :)
the only one i'm going to comment on is #2
What probably happened is you purchased your plasma blasters at one station, then docked and homed at another.
not all stations sell the same equipment, so when you died and respawned at your home station to buy back the ship, the blasters weren't for sale there.

I have one sugestion (i am a newbie too), ok i am playin your tutorial, as it says i go to sector b-12 and here i find large fleet only to kick my a** and get me frustrated, by this way i dont think too many people will like tutorials :)
Was part of the fleet a *Hive Queen, DuGalle? I remember seeing someone report that in the bugs forum, let me see if I can find it... You might want to bump this: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/2/8336
Ooo, that'd be really freakin' awesome... A tutorial cutscene with you getting 0wned by hive ships... :-D
