New Mines
well with the fun we've been having with concussion mines
I was thinkin about the mine a bit more.
First, concussion mines are great, but can we get a few more of em in a set? Like maybe up it to 10?
From there:
Timed Mines
like prox mines except they go off after a certain amount of time.
This would be a low level mine, trade level 2
Remote Mines:
This is the neat one.
you buy a remote detonator (small port wep, which detonates all the mines that you've laid)
each mine does about 1000 dmg, and the large port layer gives you 15 of em.

heh. :) nice shape if they dont do that much damage and has a 2,5-3k mass..
But: if you then could have a agresso or rag with remote mines, spread them out in a injump area and wait for your favorite KOS player. but the scanner has a range of 1000m so you can only blow up the mines closer than that, and if he gets away without getting blown to crap, then you have a serious problem aka. sitting duck

Hmm, I'd like a concussion mine launcher with remote detonation, 20 mines per tube and an effect relative to the weight and cross section of the crafts caught in the boom. I want to send a Valk from Sedina B8 to Sedina O6 without jumping.
martin: well we almost did that with an IBG yesterday.
I allso read an idea somewhere on this forum about blinding mines. Liked that too, only wonder how to pull it off for people who don't use full scene glow.
What I'd like are mines that don't dissappear when you leave the sector. I mean, that was fine for beta. But now they're useless because you can't use them near stations (NFZ), but you can't use them outside of station very well because of the low ammo.
i would like to see mines that have only one or two ammo, but each of those mines, deploys a small field of say: 20 mines in a set pattern. that way you could actualy use them efectively. as it is setting a minefield is prety much imposable because there is no way to get enough mines, that somone can't alter coarse and esily go around.
if one ammo was enough to spred 20 mines evenly over a 50m radious sphear on the other hand, they could be a lot more efective.
of coarse these mines would have to be signifegantly heavier than the curent version, and probably should not replace the curent mines entierly.

How about, if that idea of cloaking ever comes in. cloaked mines?
On that same note, camouflaged mines would be an interesting idea.
Imagine an asteroid-looking mine that, when scanned, shows up as being 100% heliocene....
