Turbo Crippler
I would like to see some kind of a small port weapon that causes one's turbo thrust to drop in half when struck by the weapon.
Pirates just don't have much of a job in today's VO.. Anyone can run away from most situations in the game.
With a turbo crippler, a pirate could hit a victim with it, and that victim would have the choice of either paying up or fighting back. that's the way pirating should be.
Keep in mind, the pirate would have to get close enough to tag the victim with the weapon in the first place, and it's not always easy to get that close to someone that's running away
I think a weapon like this would greatly increase the excitement of the game and it would at least make pirates more feared.

Well i'd like this too.. it's a little like the cruisedisrupter in Freelancer....
this has been discussed a bunch of times before and there are a lot of good ideas that have already been flushed out. Needless to say, everyone wants it but the devs have yet to implement anything.
Don't flares already meet that need?
Actually, the lower flares would serve that need better if there were quicker.

I can't stand flares.. I don't like using them, and I don't like when they're used on me.
A turbo crippler like the cruise disrupter in Freelancer (that's exactly what I was relating this to) would be perfect, and far more terrifying.
