Guild Content
Well I was thinking about some things and this is what I came up with.
Guilds currently don't have much use besides what the players in them choose to do (so missions and maybe pirating/hunting).
So my idea is to allow for guilds to aquire stations for the use of trade allowing for guilds to acquire and trade certain materials for profit and to manage to run the station itself.
A certain amount of specified materials will be needed to continue the station and production of weapons and perhaps even allow shps to be sold (very costly to craft).
Perhaps even allow for custom variants of ships. The guild would need to maintain the station and pay for various bot guards and such to protect the station. Stations could be damaged and that would mean the output would be decreased and profis would be low (or even costing the guild) so that the station shuts down. Docking restrictions can be set to prevent certain guilds or people from accessing the station.
This idea would allow for some side content and inevitbly a trade wars. Since stations could be damaged (not destroyed though... to costly to allwo that). The funds for the station would come out of the guilds bank whihc players could be required o contribute to. Stations would only be buildable in gray areas and maybe a few could be allowed to build in the faction territoriesz (would require max favor and a tax would be applied to sales ro fund the faction itself).
Pending on the guilds status; other marketing groups could prohibit sales ot the guild and require them to go elsewhere.
The stations would be able to produce particular trade goods but to set up a new production line will need a particular resource and will could take a week to be put into production.
For the combat based guilds a frigate could be purchased and a certain guild rank would be required to use the ship (as well as certain stat requirements). This ship would basically be a mobile station w/o production capabilities. At least people are needed to even perform combat (1 to manuever and the other can control some weapons). The ship itself can perform repairs on nearby ships but will require protection as well to avoid being destroyed. The frigate owuld not need to be able to dock since it can use smaller ships to perform those tasks... this includes repairs.
Weapons can be carried on the frigate as well for use by the guild. (Well this is assuming we get the ability to transport weapons as cargo but for the meantime the ships can leave weapons they had equipped and grab others).
Well that is the idea... What does everyone think?
It will add guild content, large multi-piloted ships, and a crafting system.

That is a bit different fronm what I was talking about.
The ideas mentioned in that thread were about guild management for the most part. The banking system idea is there and the last post mentions something remotely similiar to what I was saying (they mentioned guild bases and a liscense to construct the bases.
My idea focuses more on the aspects of things for the guild to do. I do suppose I should have posted the idea there but I more or less assumed it was meant for management ideas.
