As it is now, the Hog is really something of an oxymoron. It's supposed to perform between light and heavy fighters, but loaded with a gatling turret and a cannon, its consistantly outperformed by the proms. The proms are faster, heavier armored, have more weapons, etc.

I'd like to see the Warthog's thrust increased to maybe 270-300, because right now, the performance hit that it takes is extremely noticeable with just the slightest addition of mass (it's probably twice as responsive without weapons as it is with weapons).

Maybe if the Mineral Extractor Hog gets 350 N of thrust so even though its top speed is only 190, it can get there really quickly, giving it better chances to escape pursuit. I mean, it IS a mining ship, so maybe they put more powerful engines on it to compensate for heavy cargo. :)

Sounds good to me. Though then the name of the "Mineral extractor" seems misplaced.

Perhaps I've been watchin too much battlestar galactica, :) but I'd like to see a hog be able to be an interesting energy dueler.

I just watched the whole series. Over the course of all 13 episodes, There are a LOT of similarities between the Galactica universe and the Vendetta one. The more you look, the more you find.

PS: getting outperformed by a prom is in my eyes kindy logic though. But does the same hold true for example a vulture - hog - wraith.

Since in my eyes a prom is a severely beefed up wraith.

A Prom should out perform a Hog. It is the Serco Special and should be... erm... well... Special. According to the little blurb on the ship buy screen, the ship was created by taking a frigate/capship engine and stuffing it into a fighter class body. Big engine + small body = monster torque and horsepower.

The Hog could use a bit of tweaking, but you should really compare apples to apples, not apples to coconut cream pies. :-D
Since an Atlas has the same loadout, that would be a closer analogy.

yea... it was amazing. The prom IS special right now. But I was trying to chase down a centaur (he decided to run after I took him down to 15%)... and couldn't. I was completely out accelerated, and my top speed was lower (cuz I use the Mineral Extractor - no one uses it for that... and no one really uses it anyway besides me), whereas the SkyCommand Prom passes me up like I'm standing still, catches and bags the centaur, even though he started the chase later.

The prom is a whole diffferent issue, so let's not get into that right now.

Rene: Gauss+Jackhammer is 2200kg, so you'd be fighting with a 8200 kg hog... It feels pretty heavy.

I disagree, this would make a non special which could move like a vulture and equip an AGT. Which creates a non-special which requires a low level of skill to use and results in a disproportionate effect.

The warthog needs a mass-thrust scaled increase (and hornets, but I'm not sure something that simple would save the hornets), so the weapons won't affect it as much.
270N-300N at current mass is way too much, and 350N for mineral extractor is... well... stupid. However mineral extractor needs something to help do its job, other than just the cargo hold.
Centaurs and Proms I think accelerate too fast, but that's not the topic here and I won't go into detail on that.

The Hog TD should be the equivalent as the IBG to the Itani, in being what the ship is. Valks should once again be the top of the fighter class. The proms are already now the top of the heavy class. IBG's, TD's, and SVG's should be the poor man's ship. However, it's obviously the TD can't even handle much more. At the very least, it should out perform Centaurs (maybe or not the Aggresso). I haven't flown a TD for a long time because it cannot compare anymore. And I'm talking about the first ship that started out my rise in pvp combat.
