Would be nice to those who are patroling a sector to have a sensor buoy that they could lay down like a mine, limited life span, or until you leave sector. Would have it's own 3000m range, and would update your radar with info from that area, so that if you were 2500m from the buoy you would see all 5500 meters in that direction on radar. Perhaps also make a dinging sound if something passes though it's sensors. Could also be targetable for those who wish not to be seen by them, perhaps 500ac. Would be cool to see a green sensor sweep in a rotating circle eminating from it ever 5 seconds or so, just as eye candy, also would help to located it too.

I'm aware that ideas like this have been mentioned, but not like this, that I could find.
