User-interface suggestions
First of all, I think double-clicking would be a great addition to the user interface. I don't have any idea how much work it would be to add, but it doesn't seem like much, and it would make the game much user friendlier.
There are a lot of places it would be nice to have.
I'm on the nav screen, and I click the button to show the wormhole map. Now, when I pick a system I want to look at I have to click the system, and then move the cursor back across the map to the zoom in button, and if I'm custom routing through two or three systems to avoid ion storms, it just becomes more annoying.
I'm on the ship screen, and I want to put this laser in instead of that one. Click new laser, click slot, move mouse across to equip button. I'm on the Buy or Sell screen, why can't I double click the item to buy one/sell all?
Secondly, it seems like there should be a quicker way to switch equipment from one ship to another. Perhaps something like the inventory in the Character Information tab could be used?
And finally, some form of in-game help other than asking someone else how things work. Something like a /help command that would give some basic instructions and would be able to list all the other /xxx commands would be greatly appreciated.
Love the game, guys. Sorry if I sounded pushy or anything.

This should have gone in "Suggestions". Sorry about that.

well, for the help command, there is a help button in the station with some information, and you can press F1 in space for a short list of what the most common controls are currently bound to.
True, there are those things. (I thought pressing F1 displayed the default controls. Is it the current settings? I changed my controls around several times the first two hours or so of play and continued to adjust them for quite a while afterwards, so I never paid that screen any attention.)
There is a lot left uncovered though. For instance, I was held up by Shape, and when he told be to give him 25,000cr, I ignored him because I had not seen anything to make me think that was a possible thing to do.
Lack of quality documentation directly resulted in my death. Clearly, this is not an issue to be taken lightly.

no, ignoring Shape directly resulted in your death. :)
Yup. Hes a pirate and the /give money "Shape" command will save your butt as much as talking will.
There is definitely a need for better documentation, I'd also like to see a streamlined in-game program/widgest/whatever, that allowed you to more easily create custom binds and aliases. Kind of in the same realm as what EQ2 has for making custom "hotkeys". Even your standard WYSIWYG interfaces like dreamweaver have popup commands when typing into the code section of a doc. Something of that nature. Otherwise only a select few get to take advantage of dodge commands and custom zoom keys, etc. Not everyone feels comfortable going into their game folder and editing resource files.
I like the idea of double-clicking the map to nav between system and universe map, that should be an easy tweak.
As far as moving your curser over to the execute button, there is a way to do it through the keyboard by clicking the underlined letter on the key, but I understand where your coming from that you should be able to do it with the mouse more easily.
