The "NEWS" Tab.

Feb 02, 2005 DragonEmpire link
I think,(And I'm sure many of you will agree with me,) that the news is to clutterd. I have a suggestion that may help to solve this problem...

Devide the news into four categories, these could be "Sub-Tabs" under "News". Those categories could be "Todays News", "Previous Months News", "Old News", and "Advertisments".

1) "Todays News": Daily top bounties, daily trade routes, daily collected bounties, tragedies, etc...
2) "Previous Months News": Collected bounties, tragedies, etc... that has occured within the month.
3) "Old News": Any news over a month old.
4) "Advertisments": This would be an addon, "Advertisements" would be player-made articles advertising player-held events, etc... A player,(With approval from a guide/dev,) could make an article to advertise something. For example, a group of players wants to hold a tournament, one of them asks approval to advertise it and then writes an article, this article could include things such as the day and time the tournament is being held, where its being held, and how to enter.

I know that the "sell" and "buy" tabs are messy too, but those have been suggested before and thats why I havn't said anything here, but I would like to see those fixed up a bit to.

DoF :)

At least there should be a date log on each entry.
That shouldn't be too hard to implement.

I think the news should be nation/faction specific. Examples:

- A UIT claims a bounty on a Serco. The news is displayed in UIT and Serco stations, but not Itani.

- Ineubis issues a press release for a new weapon type that will be debuting soon. The news is only displayed in Ineubis stations (and maybe factions that are on good terms with them).

that's like taking away my BBC news, can't watch what's going on in other countries (nations)? Just more organization and archiving some of the older would make it soo much nicer.
