Radar Solution

I know there's a million of these. But, for some reason, I thought that I should post my own solution to the tricky problem of how to color dots on the radar. I'll first describe the coloring system, then I'll put forth three cases:

==== Coloring System ====
Aggregate Standing > +200 : Green
Aggregate Standing < +200 and > -200 : Yellow
Aggregate Standing < -200 : Red

==== Nation-Affiliated, Non-Combat Situation ====
In this situation, both you and the prospective dot are affiliated with a particular nation. What I propose here is that the dot be colored based on their relation to your nation as modified by your relation to theirs. So let's say that I'm an Itani with -800 Serco standing and +650 Itani standing looking at a Serco (call him Evil_Pilot) with +200 Itani standing. Add those together and you get an Aggregate standing of -600, so the Serco will appear red to me. Likewise, I will appear red to him.

==== Nation Affiliated, Combat Situation ====
In this situation, my friend Pilot_X and I are both in the same sector, doing CtC. Pilot_X is also Itani affiliated with a Serco standing of -399 and an Itani standing of +600. He sees Evil_Pilot as yellow on his radar. However, if Evil_Pilot attacks Pilot_X, all Itanis in the sector will see Evil_Pilot as a hostile, regardless of their Aggregate Standing with Serco. And if Pilot_X attacks Evil_Pilot, all Sercos will see Pilot_X as hostile, regardless of their Itani standing.

==== Non-Affiliated ====
This is all well and good, but what about people like Shape who have no nation with which they are affiliated? I propose that "unaffiliates" be given a representation of -600 with all other factions. So if I look at Shape and he has a -800 Itani standing, the Aggregate standing will be -1400, which is certainly a red dot. But if Pilot_X looks at Shape, and Shape has a +650 Serco standing, the Aggregate Standing will be +50, which will make them yellow dots to each other

==== Possible Additions ====
Anyone here used the latest iconbar (part of enlightenment-0.17) CVS? If so, you'll see that the icons have a really cool onhover effect where their outline enlarges like a sort of ping. It'd be cool if that effect happened every time somebody's relation to you changed. That way you'd really notice when somebody dropped from yellow to red, or vice versa. :D

Questions? Comments?

I think it's more important to show the others standing with the faction that monitors the space you're currently in.
A real Serco and a real Itani will usually show red on each others radar. But if they're in Axia space, and the Itani has +700 Axia standing, it would not be wise for the Serco to attack the itani as that would crater his Axia standing.
So maybe it would be more usefull if that very important information is shown on the radar.
