I just joined the free trial of vendetta last night and here are some of my first impressions.
It truely gives that empty space feeling I always wanted in a space game. As there are almost noone around. The combat is pretty fast paced and balanced and trading seems like its reasonable. The problem is there is almost nothing else to do in the game.
I hope you veterans won't mind while I give some suggestions on what I consider would be good additions to the game. Since
1. Purpose. Aside from the various licenses, there really isn't much purpose to the game other than combat. It looks like the game needs goals that are fun and exciting and easily accessable.
Combat goals - Since this game is mostly about combat, then it is logical the next step would be to set up a system where large guilds can form up and fight each other. To do so you need to build up little empires out in deep space. A system where neutral territories can be claimed would make things very interesting. More complex combat missions could also make it easily enjoyable for solo and group players.
Construction goals - Almost every MMORPG has some kind of crafting element to them. One of the most interesting things to do is researching new technology and crafting of existing technology. This could lead to building something as simple as a mining laser to as complex as a space station.
Exploration goals - In a universe of this size, theres always possibility of exploration. What ancient alien ruins are out there? Alien races? Space anomalies? Wrecks? Sci-fi stories abound about this type of thing.
2. Customization - Aside from changing color of a strip on your ship, you can't really tell most people apart. There are infinite possibilities for customization. Stuff like decals, paint color, texture etc. Other things could be customized too, like location of your weapons, engines, etc. This could affect what gets damaged when you get hit. This is also where player built items can customize almost every part of your ship to look different.
3. Distractions - Other entertainment and time sinks. What vices are the people of the future into? There are certainly various establishments for entertainment out there in space. Casinos, amusement parks, combat arenas, etc the possibilities are endless.
4. Automation - Since we have ability to mine, since space is so vast and people are so few, lets set up programable bots for production. Every person would be limited to just a few of these and they would do tasks like mining, defense, etc. They could be used to automate construction and other tasks like transport routes etc as well.
5. Discovery - Going back to the exploration theme, what ancient secrets does this universe hide? How did a wormhole just happen to be near a perfect world like terra II? What ancient secrets are there? Ancient races of aliens? Ancient invaders? What if something like an alien plague were to occur, race to discover a cure could be fun too.
6. Cooperation - Something groups can do together could really spruce up this game. Co-op play has always been my favorite thing. This could be as simple as group missions, or as complex as multiple people operating one capital ship. There are other opportunities for Co-op too, like coordinated construction, team space sports, relay supply races etc. possibilities there.
These are just some things that could spruce up the game. No doubt alot of it has been suggested or planned already. Since I've only been playing for a few hours, I don't know the extent of this game as of yet. Please post your opinions but keep the flames down.

just do a /group create and invitate a couple people and you can do grouptrademissions and group combat missions, or ctc (capture the cargo) or even border line missions. <CHECK THE COMMAND FOR SECURITY REASON>, since im not sure of the correct commandline anymore, been to long...
It exists, its only buried a bit further down the ground since it is pretty easy to loose a ton of cash on it if you just enter it all.
Which for newbies is sometimes hard to swallow (imagine seeing 300k go down the drian in 30 mins which you worked like 6 - 8 hours on to acquire...)

Excellent points moon. I heartily agree, on basically all the ideas/points.
Great post, MoonDragn. Well thought out, constructive criticism. I totally agree and I think the devs are also aware of these points, they just have their hands full atm.

CtC is just an little alternate. but quick boring coz (Neutron MK III can be stock piling g = result = few players involved in CtC).
Guilds in game are 99% a channel tchat and all nations..
only |SAF| guild has a goal and recruit only serco or UIT serco affiliated. the guild channel is not only a tchat but also a team work channel. that's why it's fun to play in the |SAF|.
But actually there is a lack of recruitment.
it 's quick boring when you play alone w/o team and goal.
i am thinking about the new players that want to join CtC and fights...
