Interface: station: ship and weapons

The game is great, but the user interface in the station could be a lot better.

I was thinking that the Ship page could show a 2D "blueprint" of the ship showing available weapons ports and cargo ports (to allow carrying around extra equipment or weapons or extra ammo, and the ability to change Equiped weapons during flight). Then, to Equip, one of the following:

1. Either drag-and-drop weapons/equipment/ammo to the ports or cargo holds

or

2. A series of drop-down menus, one for each weapons port, allowing the user to select NONE or whatever weapons are available. Less clicking and less relying on bold fonts to know what is being used.

ALSO, the Weapons Grps interface is in need of help.

Right now, the user MUST click Apply after changing each group, or the change is lost. I've launched to space so many times already and found myself in a dogfight with the weapons configured wrong.

The way it should be is this: Each "group" contains three drop-downs, one each for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. I am not sure how you would tie weapons to fire together, but I am sure there is a better interface for this.

i think the weapon groop and ship interfaces are ok as is. they could be better but don't have to be.

I like your idea of a "blueprint" layout for the equipmint setup, but as for the apply button in the weapon groop screen i think if you can't remember to press it than that's your oun problem not a design issue.

The interface that realy needs to be re-worked is the buy/sell screen, but this has been sugested ad nausium.

Is there a way to change your weapons groups while in flight?
I've sometimes mapped things wrong only to discover that while I am some distance away from a base.

There's currently no way to remap the weapons in flight.
