I'd like to see an indicator on the HUD that would let you know if your in freeflight or assisted mode. Maybe a small "A" near the bottom of the speed indicator that matches the HUD color when in Assisted mode and that greys out when in freeflight. Also I never remember which is my "home station". I guess it doesn't matter that much but it would be nice to see that up on the charater info screen.

A flight assist indicator has been suggested often enough that maybe it should be added to the PLEASE READ thread (it's not there now). And I do agree that it could be helpful, although I do want to mention that the velocity indicator on the left-center of the HUD does already behave differently in FA.

I also forget where I'm homed on occasion, and agree that a "Homed in:" line on Char Info would be nice. Just make sure it's only on the personal Char Info screen, and not the public. That's not info that other players need to know, for obvious reasons.

Now that you mention it, it'd be sensible [and nice for us players] to have a "home" button in the Nav screen, that would automatically plot the course to your current home station. Think about it: you'll be going there often, and going through the motions of plotting the [quite linear] course in the Nav screen is just busywork, not really much like gameplay at all. I'd just as soon skip the pointless repetition and get on with the gaming aspects.
