Tuning
I'd really like to see a "Ship tuning" tab in the stations.
I guess it's a bit much to implement, but maybe after capships and player-owned stations?
What I suggest the "Ship tuning" tab could have:
- Repaint (change the color of the ship)
- Engine tune (adjust turbo energy / turbo speed balance)
- Equipment refit (for adding/removing equipment if implemented)
- Weapons refit (same as the weapons grouping we have now)
I would also like it to be more graphic than what we have now.
It would be nice to click the Centaurs rear weapon slot on the diagram of the ship, then click the mining beam and have the little square picture of the mining beam appear on the diagram.
Immersion is the key to addictiveness!

This would be a nice way to handle the ship configuration tab. I even think it should be possible to mess with your ship's performance in a lot of ways (not just turbo), like a custom garage job.
A way to keep this in check might be that any aspect of the ship's performance is worth one point. You can add one point to a performance area by subtracting one point from another performance area. This is strictly limited to +/- one point (i.e., you cannot add two points to an area). Example: take one point off the top speed of a Centurion, dropping it from 230 to 225, and add it to armor, raising it from 6800 to 7200.
There might have to be "hard limits" beyond which ships cannot be improved, so that you can't raise maneuvering speed past 75 m/s, for example. In addition, each change should be hideously expensive, as a money sink and use limiter.
