there is only a minority that compares to that behaviour that you laid forward. And these people are the pirates you now see playing the game.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that only a minority actually stays if they get hassled during newbiemode. Since many people weren't even willing to be hassled during newbmode when the game was beta, then I surely doubt that anybody is willing to be hassled by vets during newbmode when they are paying for the game. Well anybody is a wrong word, lets say a sizeable amount.

The best way to retain newbies is by holding them with their hands during the start and cutting them loose after a couple days. It makes sure that people understand some of the actions and recognize some of the assholes in a game and don't categorize the entire community as them. And hopefully they encounter the funfactor we found in the game. That is all you can hope to strive for.
