Tedious Skill less backpedalling
Ok, it's annoying me how boring combat is becoming, and i'd like to suggest a small simple balancing tweak to make combat pvp more skillful, although not taking anything from botting (where backpedalling seems to be a way of life)
reverse thrusters should not be as effective as forward thrusters (NOT TURBO) in Fighter Spacecraft for a start. a small decrease in reverse speed for fighters(10-20m/s) but a greater forward thrust, like the corvus vulture. would make fighers more viable again..
Thanks for listening, all comments/critisisms welcome.

ps. Ohh and while your at it, reduce the cargo space on the cent... stupid a training fighter or whatever it is should have 8. :)

I totally agree with this...
While we're at it, let's get rid of railguns and gauss, and make everything a lot slower. Backpeddaling just doesn't seem to work against people in fast ships with fast weapons! I demand this you slow everything down.
Oh noes1!!!! your biting sarcasm has removed my left leg!
Yes I agree. I mean backpedalling isn't even as effective in botting, but once players learn it they don't even know how to fight the real way. I was playing someone yesterday or the day before and he started backpedalling. For about 2 whole boring minutes noone hit noone. I couldn't even catch up to him. So I started to backpeddal also. Kinda was funny when we were 1500m away from each other. Then he turbo'd up to me and started backpedalling again.. It was at this time that I just left and told him I couldn't fight like that it's too mundane, and boring. He said well how else do you fight? ...... So I guess he thought that was the only way. To move backwards while firing (must not of thought "Hey if i'm moving backwards how are they keeping up?) lol but still it would of been nice if I could catch up to him without turboing in a straight line for him to fire at me.

i understand and known why people whine about the "backpadalling".
1) they use probably Gauss canon (need to get close)
actually lot people are using it. once they are close they can't miss.
2) they do not use the boost or any tactic to get closer.
3) they are probably fighting a light ship. (i doubt a slow ship could backpedalling well vs a rapid ship)
Maybe you could descrease the "backpedalling" just a lit.
maybe...
atm backpedalling isn't a problem for me. i have used it when i was a noob.
but i should use it again sometime indeed to manage...
"Backpedalling" work only in duel!

ahem...
I busted out an alternate charachter and within 5 minutes had proms backrolling away from my ec-88 with gov plasma. To me, that is quite insulting and an utter show of no skill. If you dont have the gonads to charge an ec-88 and take it out in a prom you shouldnt be fighting.

We already have an active thread going on (and on) about this under general. The first post was a suggestion, so does belong in this forum.
