More skill bonus for PKs

Ok then Nya would it be a more accurate measurement of the players skill to raise it using the current system? Your levels do not show your skill. The longer a fight lasts the closer the players skill is matched. I think instead of giving someone alot of xp for killing someone "high level" you should get more skill for a closer battle. It's a new idea.... and the fight is more satisfying when you win (long fight, close fight, Big combat xp bonus).

ok, I see all of your points and I agree with most of them. Pking XP would be exploitable. but I think there should at least be some kind of real reward for PKing. something feasable too, not that Railmk3 for 500kills.. :\

I still think the reward for killing players should be higher.

here's a thought. what's one thing you can do in Vendetta that's a huge part of PvP and you can't just cheat with? CTC of course

you can't exploit CTC, it's very nature is enforced by the server. and currently there is no reward other than a few measly credits and some nation standing for participating in it. IMO there should be huge XP bonuses for completing CTC runs. Delivering cargo should offer XP per unit of Purified Xi, and killing a convoy should offer huge XP bonuses based on the class of transport. something maybe like this?

Siepos Transport = +500XP
Axia Transport = +1000XP
Aerna Transport = +3000XP

each unit of delivered Xithricite Ore = 200XP

It's alot of bonus, but I want it to offer so much bonus that even newbies might want ot abandon botting to participate in CTC to get a piece of the action.

The exploit there is that I agree not to defend my transport and in return you don't defend yours. Plus they are so ludicrously easy to kill that such a bonus would be a bit over the top. That's more than you get for killing the queen.

I could see CtC giving a bit of combat XP, but those numbers are WAY too high, and would lead to the exploit Starfisher mentions, and also as Starfisher mentions, is disproportionate to the difficulty of killing the transports. True, if the transport is well defended by players it might be worth that much, but very often the transports have no player escort at all.

Some numbers that I think might be more reasonable, would be if you killed the transport or another player that was carrying cargo, grabbed the cargo, and returned it, you would get say 3 Combat Piloting XP per unit returned. If you just grab the cargo & return it without killing anyone, you get 2 Combat Piloting XP per unit. I think that would be low enough not to be exploited, hopefully.

While it's somewhat off-topic in a PK thread, since Starfisher mentioned it, Hive Queens never give any Combat Piloting XP. I wish they always counted as say a +700 Combat Piloting XP bonus bot for the Advanced Combat mission.

Starfisher: Your not the only one doing ctc and noone who actually cares about ctc enough to defend it would let someone from the opposite nation kill their transport.

Beolach: 3... 2....? That's nothing. i mean on average you only carry back 10 or less..... more likely less. 30xp or 20 is just tiny.

For 1000 to 3000 Combat XP, you bet your booty people would agree to exploit that.

Suppose there are four itanis guarding an itani convoy. All of a sudden a serco comes out of nowhere and says "Here, let me kill the transport for the XP and I'll leave the cargo alone!"
The itanis go "Yay!", the serco kills the transport and buggers off with his freakishly large amount of XP,m the itani pick up the cargo and take it off to their station, also getting freakishly large amounts of XP. Everyone is happy, except for whoever didn't think of this.

I wouldn't even if they paid me.... (unless it was a ton) Tho MAYBE some players would. They'd have to pay alot of credits to keep me at bay tho...

So, somewhere in the area of 2000xp points for a sizable load of cargo isn't considered to be a ton?

In Vendetta, credits are incredibly easy to come by, if you bother spending even minimal time on it. Combat Piloting XP, on the other had, requires a LOT of time dedicated to Combat missions. Most players would jump at any chance to get 1000+ XP.

Yeah I guess. I'm at the point where levels don't really matter anymore (well combat wise that is)

Ok so my numbers were a bit off, I still think there should be SOME piloting XP reward for destroying a transport.

i'm trying to figure out SOME way that people can gain XP points other then mindlessly destroying thousands of bots. I doubt many people would take part in exploiting CTC anyway, there will always be at least a few people that play it for sport and not for XP. newbies could TRY to do that, but those (like me) that don't need any more XP would still take part.
