Movie capture
Ok first off I know this is a little extrem, but it'd be great! I want to be able to do more then take screenshots(although that is an awesome feature). Especialy if they included the sound, imagen hearing the missles and laser file flying past during a movie of vendetta. It would be like red vs blue except in vendetta. So devs, do you EVER think this will be possible?
they probably will not make it part of the game simply because you can by third party software that can do movie capture for you. Unfortunately I an uninformed as to the name of the software but I've seen it used before with other MMO's and it works great. This was for a mac, but I'm sure there are PC equivilents out there. Perhaps someone else here might know the name.
Maybe just record flight path so you can review after and see why you got killed. That would be a good learning aid.
I don't know what you're on, but Snapz Pro X 2.0.1 is great, although you do have to pay for it. It's for Mac OS X, btw.
Snapz Pro X for Macs, Fraps for Windows. AFAIK, there's nothing for Linux, if anyone does know of one, I'd be very interested.
I still say it would work to plug in a PVR to a S-Video out port and record that way. Plus, you wouldn't lose fps.
Yeah, but the capture quality would be horrible.
Anywho, it'd be nice to see some sort of packet-capture implementation or something for recording. It'd spit out a nice, small file, that could easily be played back in Vendetta. IIRC, Starcraft has something akin to this for recording games. Oh, and the FPS hit would be minimal, too.

For Linux theres this: http://xvidcap.sourceforge.net/
Which works pretty well on a modern machine.
And I've heard some people use vnc or ImageMagick for screen capture. But I doubt you'd get any good fps that way.

fps hit, my g5 won't have no fps hit with snapzpro, i've encoded a DVD and had no fps hit (it staid at around 148)
