The ability to change the colour of the ship is great, but the only problem is that after I change the colour from the nations pre-set one, I have no way of changeing it back to the exact colour without a whole lot of trial and error.
Maybe a button to revert back to the nations default colour would be the answer.
Keep up the good work guys! :)

I agree that an in-game way to reset to your nation's default color would be nice, but in the meantime here's a way you can do it. In the directory Vendetta installed to, there's a config.ini file that has a section for each character you have, and one of the lines in each characters section is "defaultshipcolor=<num>". If you delete that line, I think it reverts back to your nation's default color.
I know this has been mentioned but since this post is here…
Can we get multiple colors on a ship. A primary and a highlight or pinstrip or something, anything.

You do get two colors!
The one you pick and gray.
Some ships even have a blue cockpit window! WOW!

As always Genka… as always >:|
OTHER THEN GREY!!!!!
OTHER THEN GREY!!!!!
Aww... I like gray!
Besides, I don't think people are usually close enough to your ship to be able to tell apart yet another color. Then again, this might be a result of my playing style..

Side note, why is there no black in the color selections. If it's because the ships would disapear in the background, sure, but then again, the selection box gives your position away just like the radar so I dont see why we can't have it. If it's because that's the lost itani's color, that's not good enough, cause a UIT can fly red, and an itani can fly yellow and so on, so why????
Black is Corvus' special color, although I'm pretty sure they too won't let you paint your ship black. Their defbots, however, are a quite black.
you really don't read what others write do you Genka, I said that if it was the Corvos color that it was not a good reason, you can fly any other factions color, why not black.
John> You want something other than grey and your picked color? Look at a valk. I see more white then grey. ;D
On the note of more than one colors. Your ship won't be too small too see it when bigger ships are made.
So your saying I have to fly a Valk if I want another color other then grey, woo hoo, now I have 2 choices… :rolls eyes:
I'd be happy with HSB sliders for a color picker instead of the click-a-box method.
that would be perfect, not sure why they didnt just do that to begin with would have been easier I think, then to make a limited selection like they have now.
johnhawl218, if you could pick black as a color then everyone would be flying black ships because they are harder to see and therefore grant a natural combat advantage.
building on the multiple colors on one ship idea, has anyone played "Halo 2"? On top of your character's colors it lets you design an insigna by choosing a foreground and a background from a number of preset shapes. It would be cool if we could pick an insigna to go on our ship as well as colors, (perhaps limiting insignas to guilds?)

to say that all would choose black is wrong, I mearly wish to have that option if I so choose. I probably would use black as a highlight color, but at it is now, I fly green which to me is darker then the darkest grey available. But to say that it makes them less visable is wrong too, do you fly with no hud and stay that way in combat, or do you have the little box around then too. In which case it doesn't mater if you can see them or not cause you can just follow the box. Color does not affect combat as much as everyone says it does.
nooo - i like grey ships so much i have grey on grey. please stop the colours. alternatively, can I have a flashing rainbow stripe down both sides please?
Well my suggestion is to have more of the colors changable on the ships, basically, you can choose your ship colors out of the current template, the exception being like the black pinstripes on the Vulture, which is the only case in which you can choose black.
It would allow for far more color variation (because each ship has at least two different colors) even with the current color template, and if you allow black to be a secondary detail color for sections of ships that already have black, then again, you're not giving any unnatural advantages or disadvantages, but you're allowing a player to change the color FROM black in they want to.

The color of your ship does make a difference in combat, its much easier to judge what a bright yellow vulture is doing as opposed to a dark grey. Seeing the orientation of the ship and what its doing is vital to being able to stay on top of them, which is why darker colors are generally better for combat pilots.
exactly, tramshed.
I'm always hitting the zoom key so that I can see exactly what my opponent is doing. The red box may tell you where you opponent is, but it doesn't do a lot to tell you their orientation, attitude etc.. I also try to pick darker colors for my combat ships whenever possible, but can you imagine how much harder it would be to see a black ship than a dark green ship? It's the perfect camouflage for space!
