Infrared HUD mode
Here's an idea that the miner's might like. An addon that lets you view your environment through an infrared camera. Basically all objects would be color coded depending on their temperature. That way you could tell at a glance which roids are hot and which are not. An added side effect could be that if you have it on when you are hit by an incoming shot, you could be momentarily blinded.
In fact, it might be kinda cool if the color of roids changed with their temperature, so if you heated them to some absurd temperature, they would appear red hot.

i like this ideal. like if you have the mineral scanner equipped and press "r" it would go into that mode.
but i think that the only things visible in IR mode should be the chat and the progress bar of the miner.
meaning the radar is turned off (make some excuse by saying that the IR interferes with the Radar scanner (for the RPG explanation that we all love)).
but i think White is the hottest and black is the coldest.
and i think the temp scale is like: all in F
0-10 black
11-28 blue
29-49 green
50-70 yellow
71-91 red
92-100 white
if anyone knows PLEASE correct me these are just my estimated guess
DEVS: you could raise the temp scale up to say 2000K+=Whie and so on.
and when looking at any portion of the sun the screen is completely white.
well that was my 2¢

don't look into the sun, it's bad for your eyes.
has been suggested a few times before, but never got its own thread.
