Regarding Battery adjustments and future tweaking of "heavy" ships
I have a suggestion for the balancing of light/medium/heavy ships now that we've seen where the Devs are going with balancing. My main suggestion is to have weapons and batteries both take up cargo space in addition to mass. This means that a light battery might have negligible mass, and take up 1-2 cu of cargo space. A Heavy battery on the other hand might weigh 2-300kg and also take up 5-6 cu of space. This would make it difficult for an ultra light fighter with only 4-6 cu to have a full weapon loadout and a powerful battery, and if it did it would have no cargo space left for CTC. Alternately, it could have a strong battery, but minimal weaponry, making it only useful for picking up cargo and running, but as it is not a self contained config it would rely on teamwork to succeed (which is what CTC is all about). With this I would also presume that there would be more grades of batteries.
As for helping heavy ships, there should be enormous batteries (I'm talking 10-12cu) or perhaps multiple battery slots - maybe allowing hybrid battery configs. In terms of boosting, a larger ship should be able to boost longer to compensate for the poor accelleration due to high mass. This also means a larger ship should have a larger power plant for weapons, making them much more fearsome to fight against.
Oh, and if any of this has been discussed already, please excuse it on account of the new balancing efforts that have begun in the latest update.
