While waiting for the Itani convoy to be announced, hanging around the station at Bractus C5, it occured to me that now we have nation specific chat on 11, why not announce the convoys 10 mins from the off on channel 11, leaving the 5 mins announcements on 201/202?

It sort of makes sense that each nation would get a heads up before the enemy for their own cargo run, and it would mean that I wouldn't have to hang around the station doing not a lot while I wait to escort my nation's convoy. 10 mins should give me enough time to get back from botting/trading as long as I'm not too far off (in which case I'm probably not participating in ctc anyway).

i like this idea. 5 minutes is only enough warning if you're already in grey space with nothing to do. 10 minutes would be much better (or a running timer would be best), and would make sense at least for your own nation's convoys.

come to think of it, a timer of some sort (maybe updating once every 1 or 3 or five minutes would be great, provided it's not too obtrusive for those who don't CTC.

I think this would be pretty easy to implement actually. And it makes sense for a nation to know when it's OWN convoy is leaving.
