Interceptors
Reading the "In rogress" section about rebalencing fighters as more manuverabl/decreasing ability to turbo etc. got me thinking about the function of fighters. I think it would be cool to split the role of fighters into;
a) Superiority(Vulture) - highly manurverable, but avereage speed, light weapons
B) Interceptor(Centurian) - Fast, not quite as manuverable, light weapons
C) Assault(Warthog) - Slower, less manuverable, heavy weapons
D) Bomber(Ragnorock) - Slowest, least manuverable, heaviest weapons
This would allow groups of players to specialize and work together. CTC would have the fast Interceptors come in and take out the transports, then the Vultures would swoop in and take on the escorts. Meanwhile the other sides Vultures would defend the convoy while their Centurians would take off after the ships that have grabbed the cargo. Assault and bomber craft would serve as support ships and be of use in attacking enemy capital ships.
