IE constantly making the game easier... it wont work in the long run because theres limited content in the game and without having to work hard to get things it gets boring pretty quickly.

I concur with first post. It might seem nice to make it easier when you're noobs, but you'll get bored faster if it's easier. We all wanted the same things when we were n00bs. We didn't get them, and now understand the logic behind that.

all mmorpgs have a couple levels of instant gratification, then there starts to come the intention of retaining the captured people by making levelling tedius at best.

However, since vendetta has only got 16 levels in total, and then you have maxed your progression, it would seem logical that only half (max) should be obtainable within 1 - 2 months.

But to make it somewhat easier to comprehend,if we had 200 levels then some of these remarks would not have been done. level 100 would then be exact the same as level 8 combat now... So all in all it does not matter the slighest as long as newbies know the max attainable levels and have a couple of levels done fast just that they sense some progression. For this, add 2 - 3 levels on a smaller basis. They receive these after finishing a couple of 'big' quests like:

1) tutorial + kill 2 bots + 2 traderuns + mine ore (ferrum) (in system)
reward: class B level 0 weapons + miningbeams
2) kill 5 bots + 5 traderuns (in system)
reward: class B level 0 ships
3) kill 10 bots + 9 traderuns (multi- system)
reward: class B level 0 battery

level 0 = free stuff + some additional things. Also think about adding a free energybased + missilebased large port weapon.

AND

A)let tutorial mode unfinished flash when they exitted the station without completing the tutorial
B)add to tutorial a reference to the above mentioned idea. So that people know that there is a max of 16 levels (19 - 20 now)

leveling is pretty darn tedius, yet people do it... and to a certain extent, it helps people get the hang of the game.

right now, downstairs in the basement, some friends of mine are trying to beat all 10 Final Fantasy games in 5 days. that's a lot of leveling... (even considering they're attempting all the bosses/whatnot with their characters grossly underleveled). However, in FFs, there seems to be a direction you're headed in, a certain flow of the game; with Vendetta, an mmorpg, that's a lot harder to coordinate.

Fine. YOU go code the game. The devs have been working their arses off for years, and they still are. If you'd look at In Progress, you'd see that they have a lot in store for their players.

Yesterday, I played nethack for around four hours. I had a great level 10 barbarian going when I starved to death. Nethack makes me want to cry. :(

I agree with Enceph. but the balance is not too bad now. Started a new alt just to try it. The wh ganking will put noobs off but as tramshed says it actually adds to the game (still hate him though). Its difficult now cos we want new players and their money so the game will expand. Pick on people your own size is a good maxim and the game has some of that already implemented. We'll get there I'm sure, this is the best game of its type around at the moment and most guys are cool
