One suggestion...

How about a Grand Theft Auto style jukebox for your ship that you can use your own MP3s for. That way you can blast AC/DC back in black while you blast some collector bots.

VO supports the playback of .ogg files via the playmusic and playlist commands. Detailed a bit better here: http://www.vendetta-online.com/manual/app_commands.html

Then again, you could just run itunes, or whatever you use, in the background and turn off the game music. Same as with any other game EVER.
