It would be helpful in the nav screen to be able to double click on a system to jump to the sector by sector map of that system. I spend a lot of time clicking on zoom out, clicking a system, zoom in, selecting a sector.

Seconded. This could also be expanded to places like the buy, sell, cargo, ammo, mission and news station screens.
