Hello Guild Software! this is my suggestion
Well the def bots really are not that bad, the other day I made it all the way through Serco space in a cent with fc battery. I am Itani of course.
The current problem is the infinite turbo. At one time the game favored the pirates too much, now it favors the traders, it just needs a small adjustment.
Nation space is protected by strong bots so griefers and noob hunters cannot stay and kill everybody.
what we need is a way 10 people can take out the bots, not sure if anybody has tried this yet

I agree with Durgia: it's possible to make it through any enemy territory in a bus with heavy battery (or a hog)
but "making it through territory" is very different from "attacking and killing someone" in that territory. the latter, which I believe is the situation that Nya13 is addressing, is much harder (unless you are in a valk or somethin')

We have. they spawn a new strikeforce for every player, and respawn all bots you kill.
Utterly annoying, as killing off the strikeforce isn't enough to get them off your tail.

I think there should be a set amount of def bots. Say 20 in squads of 5. They could handle 4 people at the same time, but if a group of 5 went in, one person could get through. This would open up options for larger groups (20 people plus) to do incursions into enemy space.

No, all this would do is open up the options for griefers to overwhelm a portion of the border and get into the areas that are supposed to be safe for the new players.
Eventually the devs might develops ome mission content that would allow a group of players to mount an attack on the enemy nation, but until it has guidelines and balances provided by a mission, limiting hte number of defbots is a bad idea. (eg if you kill anyone under level blah, the mission ends and you are fair game for the hordes of defbots again)

I really hope you (Guild SoftWare) could balance that game

The grey sectors indeed have opportunities that attract a lot of traders. It just takes effort to be a successful pirate. Ask around, the locals can give you some pointers.
As for balance, try to see it from the traders' perspective. A skilled pilot will not let you escape on a fully loaded cargo vessel at 3000m, 5000m would be impossible. You just need to adjust your strategies accordingly, and get better stuff.
