Next Patch/and the next/and the next
As the Devs are debating what to put in the game next week and the weeks after, I say they make a voting poll for major game updates. For ex: Engines, shields, weaponry, and the like. I believe that's the best way for the creators to cater to the players. Or at least the most active players who would be more likely to vote anyway. Anyone else think this is a good idea?
While I too like the idea of being in control of something or other, slowing the devs down with a player-made schedule just isn't GOOD.
No.
The devs know what people want; they read the forumn, etc., even if they don't have time to post.
They have to balance a lot of considerations other than just 'how many people want it':
Is it possible?
Does it break balance?
Does it depend on another feature not yet implimented?
Is it difficult to impliment?
Etc.
I think the devs are the best people to decide what to roll out when, and the best thing we can do is offer ideas and suggestions.

That's why they are in control of what they list as the next possible updates. I'm not saying we dictate what is updated. I say they post possible updates and we pick which ones we want more.

agreed. the crowd may vote for something that will take longer to complete, or something that isn't possible rather than intinal things that need to be done.
developement teams usually have a roadmap of things to do in order. interrupt this order and it won't be pretty.
i understand your view. take mining for example. i'm personally more for ship equipment explansion rather than mining. mining was on their roadmap, as it was probably preplanned (how to mine, ect ect). the ship equipment, was not.
if we were to vote for ship equipment over mining, that would be 1 major drawback as they haven't preplanned for it.

I think you voted already. I got the impression that mining was pushed to the top of the todo list because so many people stated it was VERY important to them.
