Audible warnings for damage
Alarmingly, my hull reached 7% almost unnoticed. Perhaps i should keep a better eye on the armor/hull display.
A few audible warnings would be an excellent cue. Sometimes concentrating on your aim can make a dramatic event, such as your hull being ripped apart, drift by unnoticed. I happily jumped out of the system after a bit of target practice and said "hell, i got down to 7%??? Didnt even realise..."
A few startling buzzers and horns when you get down to below 20%. Perhaps audible "warning" when you get down to 10%. A constant beeping at 5% due to hull breach imminent (if you have a fender bender while docking, you are sucking vaccuum. hotshot).

not a bad idea as long as a player could choose to turn it off/on. I'd go nuts if i heard those warnings, but i can seee where it would be useful.
Trust me it is. I found it very useful in Ace of Angels. It was a kick in the butt reminding you that the fight just turned sour. Once i became tuned to it, I would find fighting difficult without it.
It was also a useful marker in the battle. Knowing what point to consider evasive manoevres, calling for backup, or just punching out of there.

I think flashing hull could be usefull to. alarm an red flashing light ...
Oh YES PLEASE! YES PLEASE! YES PLEASE!!!!!
An excellent idea!
I dislike buzzers and horns. They get incessant, and then drive a player to insanity.
Maybe like X-Wing or TIE Fighter, when you get hit, you get the loud sound of wrenching metal or something. If you hear a lot of wrenching metal, you're probably in trouble.

not a bad idea, but if we're doign this we should setin a prosimity (sp?) alarm also to go off when your say 100m from an object. So if your fighting in a roid field you have some small warning before you bounce off a rock.
