trainer ship w/ pilot + observer?
okay, as a better alternative to this: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/7403#88089,
why not have either an "observer mode" on a normal fighter, or better yet a special "combat trainer" two-seater, with flight and weapons controls wired to both cockpits?
"Okay, watch as I take down this Tycorp Assault bot.... Now, you try.." *switches controls to rear cockpit*
..this could function as
--a trainer for new players
--a PvP trainer for less-skilled pilots
--a taxi
--**a way to test multiplayer ships**

I like it.
That's how other training environments work. It would show a new pilot exactly what maneuvers work well.
It would be a perfect introduction to multiplayer ships, but it would require a way to get in another person's ship, which is probably one of the first things they would work on. Then it would take knowing who has control over the ship, and a command to switch. Maybe the primary player (ship owner) could be the only one to switch control. That way they could switch back when the second player heads straight for a roid.
It wouldn't require any new fancy HUD screens, only an indicator for who has control. It also wouldn't require any new ships at first, just a centurian or vulture..
This would easily lead to ships with different functions for each seat, or turret control..

I love this idea
Cool. How do you get out if the guy with command over the ship decides its time to see how far out from the station he can go? ;)
But that's an extreme case and I like this idea. Once the devs get beyond mining, news and their next big thing and start figuring out capital ships, it would be a perfect test of the principle.

/explode always works.
But if you're not in control..
absolutly love the idea
and im sure a command like /exit could be made to just pop you back to your home station
