What to do with currency?
I'm just playing this game for like 3 days, so if I make a comment on something that already exists, I obviously did not find the correct help file on that yet :)
I find it extremely easy to make money. Is this correct?
What am I supposed to do with all these credits? Even the more expensive ships, guns and ammo are at a bargain when a standard trade run makes over 25k in a single go. I've stopped making trade runs and just started on upping my combat licenses, due to excess of credits.
I'd like to do stuff with my credits, other than buy bigger guns and paying for new licenses. I'd like to, say, invest. How about investing in production facilities at stations that convert some product A into product B.
How about allowing players to actually take control over a station. For starters the station's input and output. Managing what is bought at what price, what is produced and what is sold.
Ofcourse, it would be helpful to also have bot traders that can be instructed to run between two given stations, selling products here, buying them there. And giving me the profit :)
And in the end, I'd like to use all that money to buy a whole fleet of bots and invade Itani space :)
Ah well, I suppose it is not only my party :) But the general idea is: I'd like to do something with my credits.

If you don't know what to do with your money, why not give it to newbies in need of cash ? A noob's happiness is only a mere 100k away ;)
Well, Money is meant to be burned.. :)
Waste it! : )
Actually, if you're a dedicated botter, you find money being an issue -very- soon. After a couple of hours of botting you soon need another 500k to pay for your license levels. oops. :)
As for fighting, anyone who runs head-first into violent combat and start to throw things around you, will find that wasting another 500k in an hour or two is exceptionally easy. :-)
overall, money has little value as a comparsion of how large your dangling thing is, and is so far only a safety to enable you to do the really fun things, heedless combat ;)
I find time being the sole thing that prevents me from trying to run my k/d ratio down to 1. its discouraging how long time it takes to get across the universe, more than the cost of death.
And yes, I have fun. :)

As far as ways to spend your easy-earned cash, the devs have stated before that they intend to include player-owned stations, and capital ships in the future, both of which will require HUGE amounts of resources...
As for now... Spider's got it right. If you get into some heavy PvP, and find yourself the loser (as I often am :\ ), it is easy to burn several hundred K.
