Ok, how about spacebourne deployables.
Examples

AWACS - Has 10k radar range. Feeds to group, player, or faction.

Repair station - Repairs friendlies in range.

Gun/Missle platform - well duh.

INTERDICTOR - stops jumpers cold. Has escape point like ion storm.

Of course they are targetable and destroyable.

Interdictors are really needed. Ship or deployed.

Along with Cap ships, these would help players secure their
sectors.

I'm all for them.
